Bioconversion of Glycerol into Lactic Acid by a New Bacterial Strain from the Brazilian Cerrado Soil
نویسندگان
چکیده
A lactic-acid-producing strain was isolated from the Brazilian Cerrado soil (Brazilian savanna). Glycerol, a byproduct of biodiesel industry, can be converted into various chemical intermediates industrial value by biotechnological routes. Klebsiella pneumoniae metabolize glycerol in environments with or without oxygen and bioconvert it several chemicals high value-added, such as lactic acid, 3-hydroxypropionic acid 1,3 propanediol. The wild-type bacterial (2GPP) sample determined to K. complex that capable successfully metabolizing glycerol. Fermentations were performed different temperatures, pH, inoculum concentrations evaluate best production. At first, 1,3-propanediol L-(+)-lactic produced mini reactors. production 3.8 g·L?1 decrease output observed. Thus, adjusting process variables pH temperature during fermentation, possible maximize formation utilizing experimental design strategies.

Brazilian Cerrado Soil Actinobacteria Ecology
A total of 2152 Actinobacteria strains were isolated from native Cerrado (Brazilian Savannah) soils located in Passos, Luminárias, and Arcos municipalities (Minas Gerais State, Brazil). The soils were characterised for chemical and microbiological analysis. The microbial analysis led to the identification of nine genera (Streptomyces, Arthrobacter, Rhodococcus, Amycolatopsis, Microbacterium, Fr...
متن کاملEffect of Sugarcane Burning or Green Harvest Methods on the Brazilian Cerrado Soil Bacterial Community Structure
BACKGROUND The Brazilian Cerrado is one of the most important biodiversity reservoirs in the world. The sugarcane cultivation is expanding in this biome and necessitates the study of how it may impact the soil properties of the Cerrado. There is a lack of information especially about the impacts of different sugarcane management on the native bacterial communities of Cerrado soil. Therefore, ou...
متن کاملBioconversion of Styrene to Poly(hydroxyalkanoate) (PHA) by the New Bacterial Strain Pseudomonas putida NBUS12
Styrene is a toxic pollutant commonly found in waste effluents from plastic processing industries. We herein identified and characterized microorganisms for bioconversion of the organic eco-pollutant styrene into a valuable biopolymer medium-chain-length poly(hydroxyalkanoate) (mcl-PHA). Twelve newly-isolated styrene-degrading Pseudomonads were obtained and partial phaC genes were detected by P...
متن کاملBiosorption of Strontium from Aqueous Solution by the New Strain of Bacillus sp. Strain GT-83
An attempt was made to isolate bacterial strains capable of removing strontium biologically. In this study ten different water samples collected from Neydasht spring in the north of Iran and then the bacterial species were isolated from the water samples. The initial screening of a total of 50 bacterial isolates resulted in selection of one strain. The isolated strain showed a maximum adsorptio...
متن کاملIsolation and partial characterization of a new strain of Klebsiella pneumoniae capable of high 1,3 propanediol production from glycerol
Glycerol is a promising feedstock for microbial cultivation and production of 1,3 propanediol (1,3 PDO). Here we report a newly isolated bacterial strain BA11 from soil, capable of fermenting glycerol to 1,3 PDO, and has been identified to be a strain of Klebsiella pneumoniae. Strain BA11 was fast growing showing peak 1,3 PDO production in 6 h of cultivation with productivity of 1.2 g/...
